發現林明發特聘教授，在國家圖書館的臺灣博碩士論文知識加值系統，裡面的博士論文的英文名字，有誤。

在臺灣博碩士論文知識加值系統，裡面的博士論文的英文名字寫為下面這樣。

Mand-Body Effects in Graphite Intercalation Compounds and Graphene Tubules

這個題目，在行內人看，就寫錯字了。應該是”Many-Body Effects”而不是”Mand-Body Effects”。

為了讓國家圖書館方便對照，提供原始資料給他去對照最方便，而且可以立刻確定錯誤。

該論文原本是在清華大學發表，因此要去清大圖書館查詢。

清大圖書館中，裡面的博士論文的英文名字寫為下面這樣。

確實有看到原始資料是”Many-Body”。

但這裡要注意，清大圖書館的英文題目，也不見得對。

清大的”Many- Body Effects”，”Many”跟”Body”之間多了一個”空格”。

看來連清大圖書館都要請求更改了。

請求更正

直接寫e-mail過去給國家圖書館跟清大圖書館，指名這些錯誤，並請他們更正。

清大圖書館，反應最快，三天後(4月29日)就更新完成。

國家圖書館，反應稍慢，到第14天，也就是5月10日完成更新。
(這段期間，請求了三次修改通知(04/26, 04/30, 05/06)。原本還考慮直接打電話過去告知問題。)

英文維基百科更正

既然原始資料已更正完畢，那英文維基百科上面的資料也可以進行更正。

先開一個新的topic在Ming-Fa Lin的維基百科Talk頁面，討論的主題跟內容如下:

English Title of PhD Dissertation

The English title listed in the National Digital Library in Taiwan is “Mand-Body Effects in Graphite Intercalation Compounds and Graphene Tubules” (https://hdl.handle.net/11296/z92prp).

The English title listed in the National Tsing Hua University Library is “Many- Body Effects in Graphite Intercalation Compounds and Graphene Tubules” (https://nthu.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/886UST_NTHU/13efpo6/alma990001089380206774).

The English title should be corrected as “Many-Body Effects in Graphite Intercalation Compounds and Graphene Tubules”.

I’ve informed the two libraries to correct the English title. I will modify the typo on the Wikipedia article page after the libraries correct the issues.

開topic的原因是，要讓讀者知道，資料更新的原因及處理方式。

後續清大圖書館跟國家圖書館中，資料的更新狀況，就回覆在這個主題下面。

在清大圖書館更新完成後，表示原始資料更新完畢。接著，更新英文維基百科上面的資料，並新增清大圖書館的資料當作參考(原本只有放國家圖書館的資料)。

感想

1. 感謝清大圖書館幫忙。
2. 感謝國家圖書館幫忙。
3. 雖然是件小事情，但處理起來卻不容易。還是要找資料給這些單位看。
4. 獻慶的博士班指導教授，遭遇這種事情，當然是要幫忙處理掉。加上他本人去年剛過世，也不可能自己去處理這檔事了。
5. 人生在世，資源有限，能幫的不多。可以做到的事情，就盡力吧!
